Last night I saw Transamerica with fellow cartoonists Derek, Jason S., and Jason T. It's worth seeing but not quite as great as I had hoped, for some reason. It has a lot of strong moments but it's kind of mired in a standard form "dramedy" plot. Felicity Huffman is still very good in the lead role. (And it's always a blast hanging out with those guys!)
I haven't been able to watch any movies in about a month and a half, and now that I can, there are barely any playing that I want to see! It's a very uncommon situation because I'm a huge movie freak. I guess I should check some DVD's out of the library... Is there anything I'm missing?

Moviewise, Tristram Shandy: A Cock & Bull Story was fantastic and hilarious, and is a great meta-movie to boot (the official website is just as meta-awesome as well).

The last film I saw theatrically was "Plagues & Pleasures of the Salton Sea", which isn't a very good documentary technically speaking, but the subject is fascinating enough to hold your attention. It makes me wanna drive down to Palm Springs and check it out.
And the last film I rented was "The Baxter", which you've probably seen and was very cute. :)

It'd be cool to see you pursue this style in a short comic or two.

The little points of light on the face there are inspired by Daisuke "Dice" Ttsutsumi, but otherwise I was just messing around. :)
I plan to do my Flight 4 story this way, so we'll see how it turns out...
